Scotland's amazing wildlife can’t speak up. But we can. 

The Scottish Election on 7 May 2026 is crucial for nature. Scotland has made a global pledge to stop biodiversity loss and protect 30% of land and seas for wildlife by 2030. That means the people we choose to elect now will ultimately decide if this happens or not.

Together, let’s seize this moment. Use the template to email your candidates and urge them to stand up for nature now.

How we save Scotland's nature

Nature can't wait. One in nine species is at risk of disappearing from Scotland. We need urgent action to turn things around.

Why is this election so important?

Here in Scotland, almost all of the biggest decisions around nature are devolved. So what happens in Holyrood matters deeply for Scotland's wildlife.

The next Scottish Government has a huge responsibility. It will have the power to shape Scotland's first ever nature targets, and meet our global commitments to protect nature by 2030. This will help nature come bursting back into our towns, cities and landscapes. When nature thrives, we all thrive. 

The Scottish Election on May 7 will see 129 Members of Scottish Parliament (MSPs) elected. Everyone in Scotland is represented by 8 MSPs, one is your constituency MSP and the other 7 represent your region.

Our template will enable you to email your MSP candidates, both constituency and regional, from the main political parties in Scotland to urge them to stand up for nature. To find out more about the Scottish Election, visit the Scottish Parliament website.
